How to Reserve a Trip

We have tried to make the process of reserving a trip as easy and as painless as possible. Please read the following information carefully. If you do not understand our policies, please e-mail or call us for clarification. We will be happy tp assist you in any way. Our reservation consultants are fluent in English and Spanish.

Our rafting and horse ridng trips are especially popular and often will book up weeks in advance. Summer weekends and Chilean holidays are especially popular. We urge you to make your reservation as soon as you have finalized your plans to insure that you are able to reserve the trip and date that you desire.>


 
Trip Reservation Policies

1) Reservations on our adventure trips are accepted by telephone, e-mail, fax or in person. Reservations are held on a temporary basis until they have been confirmed through the receipt of a confirmation deposit.

2) Confirmation deposits may be made by using one of the following methods:

a) Cash, check or credit card payment at our office.
b) Credit card payment using our online form.
c) Direct deposit into our bank accounts in Chile.
d) One of the deposit methods listed below (for our overnight trips only).

- Bank to bank SWIFT fund transfer to our bank accounts in Chile.
- Certified bank check or money order sent to us though mail or a common carrier service like Federal Express or DHL

3) The deposit schedule is as follows:
(Note: all deposits are per person and are quoted in Chilean pesos)

One day trips or shorter
At time of reservation: 50% of trip fee
Trip departure date: Balance due

Trips two to five days in length
At time of reservation: 50% of trip fee
30 Days Prior: Balance due

Trips six or more days in length
At time of reservation: $100.000
60 Days Prior: $250.000 (or total trip fee if $350.000 or less)
30 Days Prior: Balance due

 
 
Trip Reservation Options

To request a reservation over the Internet.....

Please complete our Trip Reservation Form. You will need an e-mail address and a credit card to complete this form. To access the form, read the remainder of this page carefully then click the "I Accept" button near the bottom of this page. Internet reservations are processed Monday through Friday from 10:00AM until 17:00PM excluding Chilean holidays. Please allow 48 hours to receive a response from an internet reservation request.

Note: We accept all major credit cards and most debit cards for internet reservations. Your card is used as a guarrantee to hold the reservation and will be charged 50% of your total charges at the time we email you confirmation. For your protection, you should only send us your credit card information over the internet using our Trip Reservation Form. This form sends us your card information and other details in a secure encrypted format that cannot be accessed by third parties.

To make a reservation by telephone or fax.....

You will need a valid major credit card or be prepared to deposit the required payment into our reserve bank account. Please contact us at the numbers listed below. Our reservations office telephone hours are from 09:00AM to 18:00PM Monday through Friday, Pacific South American Time.

Payments

Payments can be made by credit card, by depositing funds into our reserve bank account, or by paying in person at our office.

Credit Card Payments

We accept all major credit cards and most debit cards. You may use our online reservation form for this type of payment.

Cash Payments

We accept cash payments in Chilean pesos, United States dollars or travelers checks issued by VISA or American Express. We also will accept bank checks drawn on Chilean banks. US dollars and travelers checks are accepted at the approximate current dollar/peso exchange rate. If you prefer to exchange money or cash travelers checks before arriving, you will find a "Casa de Cambio" (money exchange) at the Santiago International Airport, or in various other locations in Santiago. Alternately, there is a bank ATM which accepts Visa and MasterCard for cash withdrawals in the nearby town of San Jose or in various locations in Santiago. A 10% service charge will be added to all travelers check purchases.

This page requires a password to access. Please submit a reservation form (or call us) and state your desire to pay through direct deposit and we will supply you with the password to access this page. After you have made the deposit, you will need to fax a copy of the bank deposit slip to our office for verification.

 
 
Cancellation and Change Policies

1) Except as noted below, we do not issue deposit refunds. For our refund policies to take effect, all cancellations or date changes must be received in writing, either by e-mail, fax or regular mail. We accept cancellations by telephone, however they must be followed up in writing. All cancellations and reservation changes must be emailed to reservas@cascada.net and not to employee email addresses. The following refund schedule will apply in all instances:

Cancellations

One day trips or shorter:
At time of reservation until two weeks prior to departure date: 10% of trip fee
One to two weeks prior to departure date: 20% of trip fee
72 hours or less prior to departure date: 100% of trip fee

Overnight trips:
At time of reservation until 90 days prior to departure date: 20% of trip fee
89 to 60 days prior to departure date: 30% of trip fee
59 to 30 days prior to departure date: 50% of trip fee
30 days or less prior to departure date: 100% of trip fee

Date Changes

a) If we receive your written notice of date changes on overnight trips with less than two week's notice, a 10% service fee will be applied to changes that require us to reschedule one or more reserved nights.

b) Date changes on overnight trips with less than 72 hours notice are not possible. In this instance you will be charged the full trip fee and there will be no refund.

2) All cancellation or change fees will be applied to your credit card or deducted from your deposit depending upon your method of payment.

3) If the above mentioned guidelines are followed, we will gladly issue any refunds due. Cascada de las Animas does not allow chargebacks to occur to its merchant accounts and contracts with VISA / MC International. We will use this document and customer's agreement at the time of reservation to wholeheartedly fight a chargeback and / or dispute. Cascada de las Animas will be the sole arbiter in the event of a dispute over cancellation refunds.
