The Cascada Lodge is our newest guest accommodation at Cascada de las Animas. It is composed of 12 individual bungalow suites accessed by raised walkways sited in a meadow overlooking the Cascada de las Animas Nature Sanctuary and the surrounding Andes Mountains.

Designed by master builder artisan Sergio Andrade and architect Nicolas Yerovi, each suite is a unique one-of a kind design that is reminiscent of a Tolkien fantasy.  Circular, spiral and conical shapes allow these structures to blend easily into the natural world, with undulating roof lines that create a feeling that you are relaxing within a living plant that has sprung up from the earth.  We chose to use natural tones and colors throughout the lodge, so as to mimic the colors of the Andes environment.

The elements of the interiors are comprised of unique pieces full of small details. Furnishings are handcrafted and employ organic wood, stone and other natural materials gathered locally, along with recycled wrought iron salvaged from dismantled factories. Both inside and outside, each suite is accented with colorful ceramic mosaics depicting various natural figures, unique handmade lighting fixtures, and exposed beams and support structures.  In some, the ceilings are sculptures of wood and iron, while others have spiraling cones ending with circular skylights. In each structure, we put special emphasis on maximizing the natural light that floods the interior through large windows that look towards the mountains and afford you a spectacular view of the Andes.

All have designer king size beds imported from Italy, which can be divided into twin beds if visitors so wish. They are covered with custom made 450 count thread fine cotton sheets and feather pillows and goose down comforters. Naturally, the suites also have the finest in bathroom accessories and implements, and the spacious showers accented with unique ceramic mosaics, are each a work of art by themselves.

The result is a unique lodge - designed to ensure the comfort, relaxation and wellbeing of our guests while they are partaking of all of the excitement and adventure that can be experienced in the Andes.
